Greetings current and prospective partners of the Jimmy Mac Foundation (JMF). Along with executing on our 2022 theme, “Love in Action,” we send out daily, heartfelt prayers to all who are being challenged during these very turbulent times. As a reminder, our 2022 theme is grounded in the scripture, “Dear children, let us not love with word or speech but with actions an in truth.” (1John 3:18). Our hope is that you are consistently seeing “Love in Action” in all that we do through JMF.
2022 JMF Scholarship Recipients - ICYMI
In case you missed it, we recently introduced our 2022 “Making A Difference” scholarship recipients. Thanks to our generous financial partners, we raised and our distributing $25K to the following 13 students: Caven Black, Madisyn Blue, Ryan Bowens, Lamont Calhoun, Taylor Cheek, Jasmine Clark, Joshua Eberhardt, Kai Hardimon, Mattie Jenkins-Bullard, Jordan Knight, Jacob Robertson, Melissa Sanches and Jaylen Willingham.
We are grateful and thankful for the awesome 2022 JMF Scholarship committee: Kevin Dunlap (Committee Chairman), Lawrence Bynum, Kathleen Mitchell, Cassondra Roberts and Mary McKinney Womack. Feedback from the committee; “The 2022 class was professional, confident and articulate. It was a joy reading their essays and speaking with each of them. They are achievers with high aspirations who will continue to make a difference in this world.”
Additional Scholarship & Educational Assistance Support
Along with the “Making A Difference” scholarship initiative, in 2022 we have donated approximately $5K to support other scholarship/educational support programs all across the country.
Housing Support
We are pleased to announce that the JMF Habitat for Humanity home co-sponsorships doubled this year. Two of the families received their keys recently and the other 2 homes will be completed later this year. Along with the co-sponsorship, we have teams that volunteer to help with each build. A big shout of thanks to each you who are helping out in this space. Habitat for Humanity continues to be such a blessing to so many and it’s an honor to partner with them. JMF continues to support homeless communities. Along with coordinating clothing and food drives, we recently made a financial donation to the Atlanta Mission “My Sister’s House” women and children’s shelter. Last year, this organization provided shelter to over 4,500 women and children.
Life for Children’s ministry continues to bring hope and joy to many Kenyan families in many ways. Their home build program continues to keep on blessing, over and over again. This year we are committed to sponsoring the build of 4 homes, at a minimum. Two homes were recently completed and Lord willing, we will not only be financially sponsoring, but physically helping out with Kenyan home builds in the near future. Kenyan widow, Ms. Milka, mother of 3, expressed her gratitude and joy for her new home. Her old home was in deplorable condition and the family was homeless. Through the Life for Children ministry family, the Lord provided.
Nutrition
Needless to say, food insecurities are alive and well all across this world. We are pleased to report that our greenhouse sponsorship for a widow mentoring organization called “Jewels of Obaga” in Kenya is bearing much fruit. Sustainable nutrition is an area of focus for JMF and our prayer is that we will be able to sponsor the purchase of additional greenhouses in the near future. We continue to give thanks to the Serv International family who continue to provide nutrition on our behalf to the Life for Children’s ministry. The work that they do providing food all over the globe to those in need is incredible. Locally, in the area of nutrition support, we have donated approximately $2K to various organizations and will be materially increasing our donations over the remainder of 2022. Along with continued heartfelt prayers for Ukraine, we are financial supporters of World Central Kitchen who are on the ground in this country providing meals to those in need. Like Serv International, WCK provides meals all over the world.
Orphan Sponsorship
JMF currently sponsors six Kenyan students; Naomi Otieno, John Isaac Otieno, Philip Omandi, Eugene Otieno, Evans Erupe and James Ikua. Life for Children’s Ministry and Serv International both run amazing orphan support programs in Kenya. It is such a blessing to receive communications from these gifted students. One of our sons, Evans is quite the artist and along with being a good student, he has tons of personality. He stole our hearts simply by his letter salutation, “your lovely son, Erupe.” Lord willing, we will have a chance to meet each of these awesome students in person very soon. For more information about orphan sponsorship opportunities, please send your inquiry to jimmymacfoundation5928@gmail.com.
Special Olympics – “Not a Disability but a Different Ability”
JMF continues to be proud supporters and a big fan of Special Olympics. Along with sponsoring 8 athletes, we spent a few hours volunteering at the recent Georgia State games. These athletes and their support villages, are simply amazing!
Along with executing on our philanthropic and volunteer commitments during the second half of 2022, we will continue to focus on expanding our financial partnership base and grant opportunities. We are also in the planning stages of participating in mission trips to Kenya in either late 2022 or throughout 2023. If you would like to help with either of these efforts or learn more about mission trip opportunities, please reach out to us @ jimmymacfoundation5928@gmail.com.
Once again, thank you to each of our supporters for your generosity and kindness. Please know that close to 100% of all donations go directly to supporting our initiatives. We pray that through the teamwork of our personal philanthropy and your ongoing support and generosity, GOD will continue to bless and increase JMF opportunities of service. When you partner with the Jimmy Mac Foundation, you partner with communities all across the world!
With “Love in Action” and Peace and Blessings,
Jimmy
