JMF April 2025 Update

Hello Jimmy Mac Foundation family and friends!

We are excited about this year’s JMF “Making A Difference” Scholarship Program, with 15 outstanding high school seniors having submitted their applications. Thanks to the generosity of our incredible JMF Partners, we are making steady progress toward our 2025 scholarship fundraising goal of $25,000. We are also grateful to hear from one of our past recipients, Dewayne Cole. He continues to inspire us, and we give all glory to God!

Message from Dewayne

My undergraduate journey at Oakwood University has been an incredible experience, filled with growth, challenges, and accomplishments that have shaped my future. As a senior majoring in Computer Networks with a minor in Film and Television Production, I’ve had the opportunity to blend my technical skills with my creative passions. One of my proudest achievements was serving as the Producer for a Black History Fashion Show for my cinematography class, where I helped bring awareness to the evolution of African American fashion throughout the years. Additionally, I have been exploring ways to enhance campus life through research with my current capstone project on a barcode scanning system to improve student access to campus facilities.

Looking ahead, I am eager to pursue opportunities in both technology and media, aiming to bridge the gap between storytelling and innovation. Whether through software development, network security, or digital content creation, my goal is to make a meaningful impact in the industry. The Jimmy Mac Foundation Scholarship Program was very instrumental in helping me financially so that I can pursue my education. I am extremely grateful for their contribution towards my future success.

Global Community Outreach – Life for Children Ministry – June Mission Trip

We ask for your prayers as we diligently plan and prepare for an upcoming mission trip (June 12th–26th) to visit our Life for Children Ministry family in Kenya. JMF is honored to lead and be part of a dedicated team of 11. Our overarching theme for the trip is “Giving It Our Best,” inspired by 2 Corinthians 5:20. Our goal is to uplift the 450+ children supported by LCM, reminding them of their incredible worth and encouraging them to always give their best.

LCM continues to provide exceptional family-based care for children who have been partially or completely orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic in western Kenya. The number of children receiving support has grown by 30% since last year.

In addition to ministering to the students through various activities, we will also financially sponsor and assist in the construction of two homes and contribute resources to expand LCM’s food sustainability initiative through their Life for Children animal husbandry program. Supporting this initiative—whether through prayer or financial contributions—is a meaningful way to make an impact.
